Net Easy Email Configuration

“Username” or the User ID is the entire e-mail address for the account which you want to access.

E-mail Client Configuration Information & Options

  • Incoming Server: imap.neteasy.us
  • Outgoing Server: smtp.neteasy.us

Note: Sending e-mail requires authentication so the user id and password MUST be enabled.

NOTE: All connections must be performed via secure connection (SSL / TLS).

    1. Select Settings icon (the one with the gears) to open the phone’s settings page.
    2. Select Mail, Contacts, Calendars and select Add Account
    3. Touch Other to use an account provided by NetEasy
    4. Select Add Mail Account
    5. Type in your Name, E-mail Address, Password & Description
    6. On the next screen select IMAP and fill out the Incoming and Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP)
      • Incoming Mail Server
        Host Name: imap.neteasy.us
        User Name: username@yourdomain.com
        Password: If you do not know your password, please contact us so we can reset it.
      • Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP)
        Host Name: smtp.neteasy.us
        User Name: username@yourdomain.com
        Password: If you do not know your password, please contact us so we can reset it.
    7. Touch Save.  Your iPhone will now verify your account information.
    8. If an error pops up saying it could not configure using SSL, and asks if you would like to try it without, click “Yes”.

     

    NOTE: Please remember to map the folders.
    You will need to map the “sent” folder and “deleted messages” folder on the phone to match the IMAP server as IOS ships with Apple’s custom folder settings which are not standard to most IMAP servers.

    1. Open Outlook 2007

    2. From the Tools menu select Account Settings. The Account Settings box appears.

    3. Verify that the E-mail tab is selected. Your email account appears, usually labelled yourname@gn.apc.org

    4. Click on the account to highlight it, and click on the Change icon above it. The Internet E-mail Settings appear.

    5. Click the button More Settings… in the lower right-hand corner. The Internet Email Settings box appears.

    6. Click on the “Advanced” tab. Next to outgoing server, change the SMTP port number from “587” and in the “use the following type of encrypted connection” box, choose “TLS”.

    7. After settings are in place you can click on ‘OK’ to save the new settings.

    8. Press OK to return to the previous screen and click the Test Account Settings button. If everything is configured properly, each of the tests will have a green check mark next to it. If any of the tests fail, go back and make sure each setting is configured correctly.

    2. From the File menu select Account Settings (Found on the right side). The Account Settings box appears.

    3. Verify that the E-mail tab is selected. Your email account appears, usually labelled yourname@yourdomain.com

    1. On the navigation bar, go to ‘Tools’ > ‘Account Settings…’

    2. A window called Account Settings is now displayed.

    3. On the left hand side, click on Outgoing Server (SMTP)

    4. Select the smtp server. (If hosted by us, smtp.neteasy.us)

    5. Click on ‘Edit…’

    6. The window ‘SMTP Server’ will pop up.

    7. Change the ‘Port to 587’, Connection security to ‘STARTTLS’, and Authentication method to ‘Normal password’

    8. Click OK on both windows.

    9. To verify that the settings are correct, send a message to your email and verify that it is in your Inbox.

     

    1. Open Mail (click it on the Dock or open it from the Applications folder).
    2. If the “Welcome to Mail” assistant does not appear, choose Add Account from the File menu.
    3. Fill in the Full Name, Email address, and Password fields.

      Note: Your email account password will be stored in Keychain to allow you to automatically log in to your email account when you open Mail.

    4. Deselect “Automatically set up account” if it is enabled. Click Continue to proceed.
    5. Choose the proper Account Type.
    6. Give your account a useful description, such as “Anne’s Gmail account” or “Bill’s Yahoo! email account”. It can be called whatever you want.
    7. Enter your Incoming Mail Server (imap.neteasy.us), User Name and Password. Click Continue to proceed.
    8. If prompted, enter your Incoming Mail Security settings (SSL Encryption, Port 993) . Click Continue to proceed.
    9. For Outgoing Mail Server, a useful description such as “Net Easy Mail Server”.
    10. Enter the Outgoing Mail Server details(smtp.neteasy.us).
    11. If necessary, select “Use Authentication” and enter your User Name and Password. Click Continue to proceed.
    12. If prompted, enter your Outgoing Mail Security settings (TLS Encryption, Port 587). Click Continue to proceed.
    13. Verify your settings in the Account Summary. Check “Take account online”. Click “Create” to complete the process.
